Welcome to The Botany Dept.

We craft our botanical and cottagecore-inspired pieces on demand. This means your item is printed, packaged, and shipped specifically for you once your order is placed. By producing only what is ordered, we reduce waste and maintain a more sustainable approach to beautiful living.

Please review our shipping guidelines, processing times, and policies below.

1. Production & Processing Times

Because every item is custom-made to order, please allow time for our printing partners to craft your pieces:

  • Standard Production Time: 2 to 5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays).

  • Peak Seasons (e.g., November–December): Production may take up to 7 business days.

2. Shipping Estimates & Delivery Times

Once your order has been crafted and quality-checked, it is handed over to our shipping carriers. Estimated transit times are as follows:

  • United States: 3 to 7 business days.

  • Canada & Europe: 7 to 15 business days.

  • Rest of the World: 10 to 25 business days.

Please note these are estimated delivery times. Actual delivery dates may vary due to carrier delays, customs processing, or weather conditions.

3. Shipping Rates

  • United States: Free shipping on orders over $50. For orders under $50, standard shipping rates apply and will be calculated at checkout.

  • International Shipping: Calculated at checkout based on destination and weight.

4. Order Tracking

As soon as your order ships, we will send you a confirmation email containing your tracking number and a link to monitor its journey.

  • Please allow 24–48 hours for the carrier to update the tracking information after shipment.

  • If your order contains multiple different items (e.g., a mug and a heavy cotton tote bag), they may be fulfilled by different printing partners and arrive in separate packages. If this happens, you will receive separate tracking numbers for each shipment.

5. Customs, Duties, and Taxes

For international orders outside of the United States/European Union (depending on where the specific item is fulfilled):

  • The Botany Dept. is not responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees applied to your order. All fees imposed during or after shipping are the sole responsibility of the customer.

6. Incorrect Addresses & Undeliverable Packages

Please double-check your shipping address at checkout.

  • If you notice an error in your shipping address, please contact us at thebotanydept@gmail.com within 2 hours of placing your order. Once an order enters production, we cannot alter the shipping label.

  • If a package is returned to us or our printing partner due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer, you will be responsible for the shipping costs to resend the package.

7. Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Packages

  • Damaged in Transit: If your item arrives damaged, misprinted, or defective, please take clear photos of the item and the packaging and contact us at thebotanydept@gmail.com within 7 days of delivery. We will gladly arrange a free replacement.

  • Lost or Stolen: If your tracking info says "Delivered" but you cannot find your package, please check with neighbors, your local post office, or building management first. The Botany Dept. is not liable for packages that are marked as delivered by the carrier but are missing or stolen.
